Craig Booth began
teaching as an ‘Assistant Instructor’
in 1996.
At this time Craig also competed
in both the Amateur and the Professional divisions
as a Lightweight ( 61 kgs ).
He was promoted to full Instructor, and gained
his Certification from Master Sken
in March 1997.
As well as holding the senior
rank of ' 5th Dan Black
Belt ', ( Level 5 Instructor
), Craig is also a highly experienced
International Championship level Referee
and Judge, and has officiated
over 1000 contests in the ring.
Craig, now aged 41, no longer
competes, but still trains regularly. Balancing
his martial arts training with a solid strength
and conditioning weight training program.
Promotions
1996 - Started teaching as an
Apprentice Instructor under the guidance of Neil
Holden.
1997 - Instructor Level 1 - Red
Band certification from Master
Sken Kaewpadung.
1999 - Instructor Level 2 - (
2nd Dan
) Red + White Band.
2002 - Instructor Level 3 - (
3rd Dan
) Red + Yellow Band.
2006 - Instructor Level 4 - (
4th Dan
) Red + Green Band.
2011 - Instructor Level 5 - (
5th Dan
) "Red
+ Silver" Band.
Notes on Instructor Grades:
'Dan'
simply means 'Level'.
A 1st Dan is next
promoted to 2nd Dan,
after a minimum 2
Years teaching.
A 2nd
Dan is next promoted to
3rd Dan, after a minimum
3
years teaching.
A 3rd Dan is next
promoted to 4th Dan
after a minimum
4 years
teaching.
A 4th Dan is next
promoted to 5th Dan
after a minimum
5 years teaching.
In
total it takes 15 years to get to become a Level
5 ( 5th Dan ) Instructor.
