Craig Booth began teaching as an ‘Assistant Instructor’ in 1996.

At this time Craig also competed in both the Amateur and the Professional divisions as a Lightweight ( 61 kgs ).






He was promoted to full Instructor, and gained his Certification from Master Sken in March 1997.

As well as holding the senior rank of '4th Dan Black Belt ', ( Level 4 Instructor ), Craig is also a highly experienced International Championship level Referee and Judge, and has officiated in excess of 1000 contests in the ring.

Craig, now aged 40, no longer competes, but still trains six days a week. Balancing his martial arts training with a solid strength and conditioning weight training program.

Resume:

1996 : Began Teaching as an Assistant Instructor.

1997 : Level '1' Instructor.
( Certified by Master Sken - over 1 years teaching experience ).

1999 : Level '2' Instructor - 2nd Dan Black Belt .
( over 3 years teaching experience ).

2002 : Level '3' Instructor - 3rd Dan Black Belt.
( over 6 years teaching experience ).

2006 : Level '4' Instructor - 4th Dan Black Belt
( over 10 years teaching experience ).

Craig is due for his next promotion to 5th Dan, ( Level '5' Instructor ), in March 2011, when he will have over 15 years teaching experience.

This is a very prestigious grade to hold as it is regarded as MASTER level instructor, or SHIHAN.

Notes on Instructor Grades:

'Dan' simply means 'Level'.

A 1st Dan is next promoted to 2nd Dan, after a minimum 2 Years teaching.

A 2nd Dan is next promoted to 3rd Dan, after a minimum 3 years teaching.

A 3rd Dan is next promoted to 4th Dan after a minimum 4 years teaching.

A 4th Dan is next promoted to 5th Dan after a minimum 5 years teaching.

Grades 1st Dan and 2nd Dan, - Title of 'Sempai' or SENIOR.

Grades 3rd Dan and 4th Dan, - Title of 'Sensei' or TEACHER.
( Also means Teacher of Seniors )

Grades 5th Dan and 6th Dan, - Title of 'Shihan' or MASTER level TEACHER.
( Also means Teacher of Teachers )
