Students must wear a White Belt when they start training, regardless of any grade they hold in other martial art systems.

When KUDO training at Okami-Dojo / Wolf-Gym, there are a total of SIX belt ranking ( Kyu / Stage ) promotions used up to the SHODAN ( Black Belt - 1st Dan ) as officially set out by KUDO International Federation ( K.I.F. ) for the ranks of 6th Kyu, 5th Kyu, 4th Kyu, 3rd Kyu, 2nd Kyu, 1st Kyu.

Weekly training must typically consist of two 'Standup-Striking' sessions and one session on 'Takedowns-&-Submissions'.

KUDO - Black Belt Promotion :

Technical ability is tested via a KUDO seminar which is conducted by Master Azuma. This lasts approximately 2 HOURS, during which time a Shodan candidate must demonstrate the adequate levels of skill in the execution of Offence and Defence using Striking-Techniques, Takedown-Techniques and Submission-Techniques.

This is then followed by a '10 Man' KUMITE test.

2 Rounds : Atemi-Waza ( Striking techniques, using Kyokushin Karate rules ).
2 Rounds : Nage-Waza ( Takedown techniques, using Judo Rules ).
2 Rounds : Ne-Waza ( Ground techniques, using Ju-Jitsu Rules )
2 Rounds : Atemi-Waza ( Striking techniques, using Kickboxing rules ).
2 Rounds : Sogo Kakutogi ( Mixed techniques, using KUDO rules ).

# Note : The Kumite rounds may have modifications.

For example, the Nage-Waza, ( Judo Rules ), may also include Headbutts & Elbows.

Or the Atemi-Wazi, ( Kickboxing rules ), may also include Takedowns.

KAKUTO ( Combat ) Karate Black Belt Promotions, are also conducted by a
Dai-Shihan Lee Hasdell ( 8th Dan ) and are registered with B.C.K.A.

The examination test for the KUDO Black Belt and for the KAKUTO ( Combat ) Karate Black Belt follows the same format.

NOTE :
Passing the KUDO Black Belt test also automatically awards you the rank of 1st Dan in KAKUTO ( Combat ) Karate.

INSTRUCTOR 'DAN' GRADES :

With KAKUTO ( Combat ) Karate
, further Instructor Levels, ( Dan Grades ), are awarded upon the 'T.S.R.' criteria.

T.S.R. is the 'Time-Served-Recognition', of an Instructors years of dedication and contribution to the Martial Arts.

T.S.R. criteria, is the most genuine method for Instructor Ranks, as it is based specifically upon the date an Instructor was originally certified as a Level 1, ( 1st Dan ), Instructor.

People looking to find a qualified Trainer for themselves, or their children, can be confident of the experience of the Instructor that has been promoted via T.S.R.

See the following T.S.R. criteria below:-
